How did the First Continental Congress and the fighitng at Lexington and Concord affect the colonies' conflict with Britain?

The First Continental Congress and the battles at Lexington and Concord affected the colonies' conflict with Britain because they both influenced the war. The First Continental Congress encouraged the colonists to not import British goods which upset the British. The Battles at Lexington and Concord happened when one person shot by mistake and then the British started shooting at the Colonists. Britain parliament found out about the colonists storing weapons and ammunition and so they shipped to America. When the colonists heard of this, they took all the weapons and ammunition and hid them in the surrounding cities. Both, the battles of Lexington and Concord and the First Continental Congress, moved America forward in their plan to gain independence.
